Course Overview:This course is designed for beginners who want a strong foundation in heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems. Students will learn the principles of thermodynamics, airflow, and the function of all system components. Safety, refrigerant handling, and basic electrical knowledge are emphasized, preparing students for practical HVAC work and advanced courses.

Hands-on Activities:

• Identify HVAC system components (compressors, condensers, evaporators, air handlers, thermostats)

• Basic electrical wiring exercises for HVAC systems

• Measuring system pressures and temperatures

• Simple troubleshooting scenarios using gauges and meters

• Safety drills, including PPE usage and refrigerant handling

• Understand how HVAC systems operate and the function of each component

• Safely handle refrigerants and basic electrical components

• Perform basic diagnostic checks

• Prepare for installation or maintenance roles

Assessment:

• Practical test: Identify components, measure pressures, and perform a simple troubleshooting task
